Reigning North and Tobago zonal champions St Joseph’s Convent (Port of Spain) and Signal Hill Secondary offered a show of strength in their respective zones today as Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Girls Championship fixtures continued in four of the five districts.
St Joseph’s Convent routed Diego Martin Central 13-0 on their second match day, to widen the gap with second place East Mucurapo Secondary on goal differential.

East Mucurapo downed Tranquillity Secondary 4-1 today to match SJC’s points tally of six from two matches. However, East Mucurapo’s goal difference is +5; St Joseph’s Convent boast of a +18 goal differential.
In Tobago, Signal Hill trail Scarborough Secondary by one point although the former school has a game in hand. Scarborough have a +2 goal difference; Signal Hill, who routed Roxborough Secondary 18-0 today, have a goal aggregate of 26 scored, none conceded thus far this season.
Versatile Trinidad and Tobago national youth team attacker Ty’kaiya Dennis already has seven goals, with an opening day hattrick against Pentecostal Light & Light High School on the weekend followed by a beavertrick against Roxborough today.
In the East Zone, St Augustine Secondary’s home match against Five Rivers Secondary was postponed, which left a clash between San Juan North Secondary and Bishop Anstey High School East as the only outing in the zone.

San Juan North led 1-0 at the half, though Keyana Daniel—only for Kyra Lee Loy to salvage a point for BAHSE after the interval.
Bishop Anstey East lead the East with four points from two games. However, Five Rivers, who put 20 unanswered goals past El Dorado East Secondary on the weekend have a game in hand.
St Joseph’s Convent (San Fernando) whipped St Stephen’s College 6-1 in the only South Zone match to kick-off today, after Moruga Secondary had their clash with Pleasantville Secondary postponed.
While, in Central Zone, there were no games played due to an issue with referees.
Action resumes on Sunday in the Girls Championship.
