The following Letter to the Editor, who gives details of parking arrangements at the Ato Boldon Stadium for Trinidad and Tobago Concacaf Gold Cup Preliminary encounter with Cuba, was submitted to Wired868 by AEC, a football fan:
Wired, I feel there was some kinda scam taking place to get into the area around the Ato Boldon Stadium to park.
Guys in black from a security firm were demanding $40 to go beyond a ‘checkpoint’ along the road. I looked at one person with the wad of money in his hand and thought: suspicious!!
Me: What I paying for?
Security: To park.
My husband: Who is you?
Me (in a loud voice): I done pay my moneee to come here why I paying more!
Security: If yuh doh pay, the police wouldn’t let you pass.
Me: What evidence you giving me that I pay?!
Security: Go ahead to dat lady.
I drive to next check point.

Me: Good night. What I paying for?
Female security (in sing-song voice): Well, for parking.
Me (steam coming from my nose, as I’m in the vicinity of the stadium for more than an hour and the game is deep into the first half): I done spen my moneee areeady! Allyuh advertised parking fee?! Allyuh mad or wot?!
Seeing my mad glands raising, the lady security says go ahead.
I drive to where they said the police would be. Not one police officer, just more security guards. I drive pass them in search of a park quite down by the swimming place.

We got seated in time for the start of the second half…
