Des Vignes-Gosine: It’s my job to protect my children; Gosine sisters affected negatively

“[…] I won’t go as far as to say they were being victimised, or maybe I should.

“Either way, what I have recognised is that since that meeting to now, not much has changed…”

The following is a press statement by Natalie Des Vignes-Gosine, former women’s national football team player and mother of aspiring national youth team footballers, Natalia and Nikita Gosine:

T&T Red Angels attacker Nikita Gosine scored twice as her team routed Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 4-0 in Jewels of the Caribbean action at the Ato Boldon Stadium on 18 December 2024.

This is truly a sad and disturbing situation all around. There was a meeting in the past with members of the governing board of the Women’s Football Association (sic) in regards to my daughters and the manner in which they were being treated.

I won’t go as far as to say they were being victimised, or maybe I should.

Either way, what I have recognised is that since that meeting to now, not much has changed.

My children are being affected and impacted in a negative manner and it is my responsibility as their parent, their mother, to protect my children at all cost.

We wish team TTO all the success.

Well mom is it something personal against you and someone in the association after all you were an ex national player is it an old grudge or maybe you “jumped the gun” I still feel God blessed you with two daughters who can play ball so why when one didn’t get through for what ever reason you withdrew the other when she could of gone and made her mark Im sure the other one would of gotten another chance to prove herself but now I’m sure now the two of them are psychologically damage

  2. Better she didn’t say nothing. It woulda be the same.
