Intercol 24: Speyside High, Scarborough Sec take last zonal semifinal spots

Speyside High and Scarborough Secondary took up the last 2024 Coca Cola Intercol zonal semifinal spots yesterday, as the quarterfinal round ended with a double header in Shaw Park, Tobago.

Defending Tobago champions, Speyside, cruised into the next phase with a 4-0 win over Pentecostal Light & Life. Attacker Riquelme Phillips, a National Under-17 player, notched his 10th goal of the season while Samuel Solomon, Milz Johnson and Jabari Roberts chipped in with an item each for the “Country Boys”.

They will meet Scarborough in semifinal action on Tuesday, after the Championship Division winners downed Roxborough Secondary 3-1.

Signal Hill Secondary and Mason Hall Secondary are in the other Tobago semifinal fixture.

The 2024 Intercol tournament resumes in Central Trinidad tomorrow as Miracle Ministries Pentecostal High School face Presentation College (Chaguanas) from 3.30pm followed by a clash between Carapichaima East Secondary and Chaguanas North Secondary from 5.30pm.

Both games will be played at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.
