The next president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) will be either Kieron Edwards or Colin Wharfe.
Wharfe, the TTPFL CEO, said he beat the deadline to confirm his candidacy yesterday and shared his slate with the public today via press release.

His running partners are: Colonel Keston Charles (first vice-president), Renee John-Williams (second vice-president), Huey Cadette (third vice-president) and ordinary members Colm De Freitas, Richard Mason, Lee Davis, Riaz Ali, and Makan Hislop.
John-Williams is the daughter of late former TTFA president David John-Williams and director at W Connection while Cadette is a board member of the Trinidad and Tobago Super League (TTSL) and Tobago Football Association (TFA) and manager of TTPFL Tier One club 1976 FC Phoenix.
Davis is the former TTSL president and manager at Tier One club Prison Service FC, Mason serves on the current TTPFL executive committee alongside Wharfe, Hislop is a former Trinidad and Tobago international player and De Freitas heads City FC—after formerly running the QPCC football academy.
“The period immediately following the formal announcement of my candidacy for president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association was dedicated to intense discussions,” stated Wharfe, “with the objective of bringing together a quality team to run the affairs of Trinidad and Tobago Football.

“This team has been diligently put together to cover the key areas necessary to achieve what we all desire, that is, progress for football.
“This initial release serves to familiarize the media with these individuals who are now fully committed to the process of transformation. Further details will be forthcoming in a subsequent communique.”
Wharfe, at present, is an employee of the TTFA—hired by the Fifa-appointed Normalisation Committee. He declined to comment on whether he would resign his post to run for the local football presidency.
Wharfe’s rival, Edwards, named his slate “Team Progressives”. His team comprises: first vice-president Colin Murray, second vice-president Osmond Downer, third vice-president Jameson Rigues, and ordinary members Ryan Nunes, Alicia Austin, Allan Logan, Inspector Andrew Boodhoo and Shelton Williams.

Ironically, Williams is assistant coach and vice-president at FC Phoenix, which means the Tobago club has administrators on both slates.
