The following statement from the Eagles Football Club recognises the legacy of Under-20 team captain and Scarborough Secondary footballer Kaniel Davidson, who passed away last week in a vehicular accident in Bacolet:

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Kaniel Davidson, captain of the Eagles Football Club Under-20 team.

Kaniel was more than just a player—he was the heartbeat of our team. A natural leader on and off the field, Kaniel brought passion, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence that uplifted everyone around him.

His leadership was not measured only by his performances, but by the respect he earned from teammates, coaches, and opponents alike.

From his early days in our youth program to his role as Under-20 captain, Kaniel was a shining example of what it meant to wear the Eagles crest. He carried himself with humility, maturity beyond his years, and a quiet strength that inspired confidence.

His presence in training sessions and matches set a standard for all who followed, and his absence will be deeply felt throughout our club and community.

Off the field, Kaniel was just as remarkable: warm, respectful, driven, kind-hearted, and always smiling. He was a friend, a mentor, and a source of encouragement to so many.

His potential, both as a footballer and as a young man, was limitless.

Kaniel Davidson helped Scarborough Secondary to the 2024 Tobago Championship title and unprecedent spot in the SSFL Premier Division, via the Big Five competition.

The entire Eagles Football Club family is united in grief. We extend our deepest condolences to his parents, family members, loved ones, and teammates.

We also thank the wider football community for the outpouring of support during this time.

As we mourn this tragic loss, we will honor Kaniel’s memory by continuing to uphold the values he lived by: courage, dedication, and unity.
