T&T U-20s face Jamaica in two international friendlies in Malabar

The Trinidad and Tobago National Under-20 Team will face the Jamaica U-20s at the UTT Campus in O’Meara from 4pm on Thursday 25 January before the two nations clash again at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar from 4pm on Thursday 1 February.

The warm-ups are expected to help National Under-20 coach Brian Haynes whittle down his playing roster and tweak his tactics, as he prepares for next month’s Concacaf Under-20 World Cup qualifying action in Trinidad.

Trinidad and Tobago host Group D and open their campaign against St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday 23 February, before they battle Dominica and Canada on Sunday 25 February and Tuesday 27 February respectively.

Haynes is expected to have several overseas-based available for the second friendly while it should be mostly locally-based boys who kick off the two match series at UTT on Thursday.

The Fatima College pair of forward Michael Chaves and midfielder Aidan De Gannes, San Juan North Secondary attacker Lindell Sween, Arima North Secondary defender Akil “Smooth” Henry and the St Benedict’s College duo of defender Lyshaun Morris and midfielder Josiah Ochoa should feature among the home-based players.
