The following release on the bmobile and Tego 2018 World Cup app was issued by telecommunications company, bmobile:
Technology innovators bmobile and Tego have partnered to launch a ground-breaking App that provides users in Trinidad and Tobago with unprecedented access to the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches from their smart phones, tablets and computers.
“The bmobile Tego app showcasing the 2018 FIFA world CupTM is a perfect example of how you put technology to use for the benefit of customers,” says Chevon Wilson, vice president of Mobile Services at TSTT. “FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events worldwide and is a must-see for hundreds of millions of people.
“Fans are forced to make all types of adjustments to their routines and obligations in order to view the matches live on TV. With this app, users will have access to high quality video of the live matches right on their phone.”
The revolutionary ‘bmobile Tego app’ is a special portal for users to watch live all sixty-four 2018 FIFA World CupTM matches and receive breaking news and event coverage including team overviews, photos, statistics and match line-ups.
This unique app is also equipped with ‘Pause’, ‘Fast Forward’ and ‘Rewind’ features which can be used during live games. All completed games will be saved in the app so if for any reason a user misses a game, they can still retrieve it to view at their leisure.
“During the month-long 2018 FIFA World CupTM competition users won’t have to miss a second of play in football’s biggest contest,” said Wilson. “Imagine not having to run out of office or utilise your entire lunchtime to view the matches. It’s live. It’s on the go. You have access anytime and anywhere.”
Wilson explained that customers using bmobile’s 30-day prepaid Unlimited Plan or any post-paid unlimited plan, will have access to the content for free.
“Bmobile is committed to providing a top-notch experience to all citizens of T&T. This app was designed for our unlimited plans and we want our customers to have hassle free enjoyment of the service.”
General Manager of Siber World Link Services and CEO/Founder of Tego, Jason Mulrain, was equally optimistic about the appeal of the app that his companies designed and built. According to him, this app may be the most intimate yet cost effective means of experiencing the 2018 FIFA World CupTM.
“We needed a robust, high-speed mobile network to deliver the content to a large number of people nationwide, simultaneously,” said Mulrain. “We chose bmobile as our national network to distribute the matches because they have the best network infrastructure in the country. With the current state of the economy, people are cutting back on their bills so it was imperative that we offered a digital solution that was price-conscious.
“The software is a proprietary app tailored for the 2018 FIFA World CupTM and there is a definite need for this product.”
The bmobile Tego app can be downloaded from the Trinidad and Tobago iTunes Store and the Google Play Store and qualified bmobile unlimited plan customers will receive a personal, free activation code to access the matches and other paid content in the app.
For other bmobile and non-bmobile customers, an activation code for a bmobile Tego Pass can be purchased online at bmobile.co.tt or through VIA at NLCB Lotto booths. Bmobile customers also have the added convenience of purchasing via text message, just send ‘wcup to ‘2018’.
The activation code costs just TT$112.50 (VAT included) and is valid for four months to re-watch any game up to three months after the 2018 FIFA World CupTM has concluded.
